Re: Septic Tank Replacement and garage addition at Lot7, Block 2, Dalzell-Schneiter Subdivision
To Whom It May Concern,
At the referenced property,the owners will be constructing an addition consisting of a garage and
expansion of their living space. Considering the age of the existing steel septic tank (30+years) the
owners would like to replace their existing septic tank while work is being done on foundations for the
new addition.
Scope of work effecting the septic system includes replacement of the existing 1,250 gallon steel tank
with a new 1,250 gallon steel tank. Water tight couplings will be used and manhole covers will include
gaskets. The discharge line from the existing house will be reconnected to the new tank.The discharge
line from the addition will tie into the existing discharge line from the house. The new tank will be
reconnected to the existing leech field.
The replacement tank is greater than 5'from property lines, greater than 10' from water lines, and
greater than 100'from surface water. Replacement of this tank will not negatively affect well or septic
systems on adjacent properties.
The addition does not increase the number of bedrooms from the originally designed system and
therefore no work will be done on the existing leech field.
