The septic tank was pumped and verified to have a capacity of 1500 gallons. The absorption trench was tested by a continuous flow over a period of 48 hours without any adverse effect on the system. It can be concluded' from the above test that the waste water disposal system serving the five bedroom rm~iden~e located on this property is currently functionin~ ad~quatel~ However, the system cannot be guaranteed aga~.nst subsequent failure. During this test the liquid level in the septic tank was monitored as water was added to the system. If the 5 bedroom residence on the property is to house 10 people, the average load on the system can be expected to be 750 gallons per day or .52 gallons per minute. During the test, the system accepted 200 gallons in 90 minutes. This indicates an average effluent acceptance rate of approximately 2.3 gallons per minute at the time of the test. July 10, 1978 Hr. James B. Roberts Page 2 Because the house on the lot is occupied, we assume that the leach field was at its normal degree of saturation. We can therefore conclude that the system is disposing of effluent at an adequate rate for a 5 bedroom residence. We appreciate this opportunity to be of service to you.
