SIZEMORE & ASSOCIATES ENGINEERS & SURVEYORS 907-345-1572 FAX-345-9669 PROBABLE IMPACTS TO ADJACENT PROPERTIES A) WELLS The proposed wastewater disposal system is designed in accordance with current Municipal Wastewater Disposal Regulations. The proposed 5'by 4' deep x 75' long Absorption Trenches are greater than 100 fl. from wells on this and surrounding lots. Therefore, there should be no adverse impacts on wells from this system. This upgrade of the absorption system will not preclude construction ofsystems on adjoining lots. B) WASTEWATER SYSTEMS The system is designed in accordance with current Municipal Regulations, and construction will comply with current regulations. There should be no adverse impact of adjacent disposal systems. C) RESERVED SPACE/SURFACE AND SUBSURFACE There is adequate space on the lot for a replacement disposal system, and still maintain the protective radiuses around wells. The placement ofthe septic system on this lot should not preclude building replacement systems on adjacent lots. D) DRAINAGE The topography on this lot and the surrounding lots is sloping varying from level to15 %. The area disturbed during construction ofthe system will be graded to prevent ponding of water. DATE: WASTEWATER DISPOSAL SYSTEM LOT I, BLOCK 2 KENO tlILLS SUBDIVISION 0.0 GENERAL 0.1 The scope of this project consists of installation ora new1250 gallon Septic Tank and a two five foot wide by 75.0 feet long absorption trenches containing 2.0 feet of filter sand & 1.0 ft. of sewer rock. 0.2 Construction shall be in accordance with the approved site plan and design drawings, Municipality of Anchorage permit with any special provisions or conditions. Deviations from the approved design drawings shall be coordinated and approved by the engineer conducting the inspections. 0.3 All construction procedures and material used to construct the system shall comply with Municipal and State regulations. 0.4 Unless specifically agreed otherwise, the homeowner shall be responsible for finish grading areas after the system is constructed and soil is compacted and mounded over the wide trench disposal field and the Septic Tank. 1.0 SEPTIC TANK I. I The 1250 gallon septic tank shall have two compartments and shall comply with Municipality of Anchorage Requirements. The tank shall include two 4" cleanouts for pumping access. 1.2 The septic tank shall be set level and shall be bedded as necessary to prevent settling or shifting ofthe tank. 1.3 All pipe connections to the septic tank shall be made with waterproof mechanical couplings. A cleanout shall be installed upstream ofthe tank within 5 feet ofthe house foundation. A double cleanout shall be installed downstream, within 5 feet ofthe septic tank. The first cleanout downstream of the septic tank shall clean toward the drainfield. The second cleanout shall be to clean toward the septic tank. 1,4 The contractor shall insure that the new tank is at least 100 ft. from the well. 2.0 SOIL ABSORPTION DRAINFIELD 2.1 The soil absorption drainfield shall consist of two 5 x 75.0 x 4.0 deep trench with a total of 2.0 feet of filter sand, and 1,0 ft. of sewer rock with 6" beneath the perforated drain pipe 2.2 The bottom of the excavated trench shall be level within +/- 2". And compacted or smeared surfaces shall be raked to allow for proper infiltration of effluent. This includes both the sides and bottom of the trenc 2.3 Sewer rock shall be 0.5 - 2.5", screened gravel with less than 3% passing the ti 200 sieve. 2.4 Cleanout pipes and monitor tubes shall be 4" diameter and installed as shown on the plans. The portion of the monitor tube extending through the sewer Rock shall be perforated. All monitor tubes and cleanout pipes shall have Waterproof caps conforming to Municipality of Anchorage Specifications. 2.5 Two inches of"blue board" insulation shall be placed over the sewer rock. A minimum of 2 feet of unclassified fill shall be placed over the insulation. 3.0 ENGINEERING INSPECTIONS 3. I A minimum of four engineering inspections will be required during construction of the system. One after the septic tank is set prior to its backfill, one after excavation of the absorption trench prior to placement of sewer rock, one after placement of the sewer rock and the distribution piping, cleanouts and monitoring tubes are in place. The final inspection shall be after filter fabric is placed; the trench and the final grading are complete. 3.2 The contractor shall coordinate with the engineer at least 24 hours prior to start of construction. If the contractor desires, a site visit with the engineer prior to start ofconstruction can be arranged. Box 10-377 Anchorage, Alaska 99511 Re: Adequacy Test on Existing Multi-FIo Waste Treatment System; Lot 1 Block 2, Keno Hills Subdivision, Anchorage, Alaska ' Dear Mr. Senne: At your request of July 10, 1980, Dan Cooper conducted a test of the Multi- FIo Waste Treatment System on the above described property. Dur'ng the test the liquid levels in the Multi-FIo unit were monitored as water was added to the IVlulti-FIo unit. For a 4 bedroom residence the average load on the system can be expected to be 600 gallons per day or .42 gallons per minute. During the test, the system accepted 150 gallons in 146 minutes. This indicates an average efflu- ent acceptance rate of approximately 1 03 gallons per minute at the time of the test. ' Because the house on the lot is occupied, we assume that the drainfield was at its normal degree of saturation.
