Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6650 Subject: Lot 1, Block 3, Eaglebrook Subd. Gentlemen: Attached are soil logs and the proposed design for new construction on the above lot. The soil logs show that there is a layer of material suitable for disposal, however, there is also water monitored at 6' below ground surface. As a result I have designed a pressurized bed system which will be installed just below the organics at a maximum depth of 0.5'. We have identified two features near this lot which impact the design. There is a drilled well which is sited on the property to the northwest. This well was originally planned as part of a community water system for Equestrian Heights Subdivision and it is my understanding that testing was done on it. The well is not totally sealed and apparently does not have a pump in it, however we are treating it : as a Class "A" well for purpose of our design. In addition, there is standing water in the ditch to the west side of Northfield; we have designed this system to allow for a 100' setback to this water. There is no water on the east side of the road, nor is there surface water anywhere else within 100' of the system. The lot slopes very gently from east to west and flattens out in the area just east of the proposed system. The proposed dwelling is a 5 bedroom ranch style house with a full basement and a lift station is necessary. I have increased the width of the bed to 20' inasmuch as we are pressurizing the bed, and ask for a waiver of width to allow for this configuration. The reserve area has been sited outside the 200' well radius. This development should have no adverse impacts on adjacent lots now or in the future. The water was tested and found to be very clean with no measurable nitrite or Arsenic levels, see attached lab test results. No well log was found but the well is 120 feet deep with a static water level of 30 feet. Both the well and neighbors septic have been working well for the past 22 years with no contamination issues.
