We are submitting this application for the construction of a new septic system to be constructed as soon as possible. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home and the existing well and septic system and the proposed system. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system,whether on this lot or adjacent lots. The ground surface on the lot slopes toward the west at a shallow grade. Drainage arrows are shown on the site plan indicating the grade and direction of flow. Storm water drainage will not impact this septic system. The new trench will be constructed parallel to the slope as much as possible. Wells on this and adjacent lots are shown. The new system will be a minimum of 100' from all wells and surface water, and more than 5' away from the septic tank and 10' from the existing absorption trench. A test hole will be completed prior to construction to verify subsurface soil conditions. Groundwater will be monitored to determine the stabilized level. Please refer to the attached test hole log from the system file and the plan and profile sheets for the septic design. These are to be satisfactorily addressed prior to MOA approval: 11./Provide current as-built survey. �2. Narrative and site plan indicate that site slopes to the east. MOA topo mapping show the site sloping to the west. Please confirm. W. Under"Design Factors"on trench section, bottom of trench is noted as 8 ft. Section shows bottom of trench at 7.5 ft. The soils log on file for this lot(attached to permit application)does not have groundwater monitoring or a percolation test. In addition, it is not deep enough to demonstrate separation to impermeables. The soils logs from the Tonjess Estates subdivision file do not show consistent soils(also do not do groundwater monitoring and minimal perk tests). For these reasons, I am not comfortable granting a special provision to do a test hole at time of construction. We have revised the documentation to show a shallow slope to the we 3!Revised. Revised. 5. We have worked extensively in the Tonjess Estates Subdivision and have recent test hole log and percolation test information. This data shows consistent soils throughout the area with percolation rates between 1 and 5 minutes per inch. Groundwater or impermeable soil lenses were not encountered on any of the lots. Historic data on the surrounding lots also indicates consistent subsurface soils. Percolation testing was completed during the subdivision phase in 1978 with all lots in Block 3 having percolation rates near 5 minutes per inch. Copies of our research is attached. We are confident neither groundwater nor impermeable soil lenses will be encountered on this lot. We are willing to complei a test hole and percolation test prior to the start of construction and will submit the results to the City before construction stars for review.
