The existing system consists of a 1000 gallon steel septic tank and a crib leach field. The existing tank and crib will be disposed of as per code. A 1250 gallon steel septic tank and two 35' foot-long trenches will be installed. A test hole was dug and a percolation test was performed on August 21, 2017. Please see the attached results. The proposed design is sufficient to serve a four-bedroom house on the referenced 24,375 square foot property. The parcel slopes between approximately 12%and 23% in the area of the proposed leach field. The two trenches will be oriented perpendicular to the slope. The parcel is treed with spruce, birch, and aspen with birch being predominate. There are no water wells or streams within 100 feet of the proposed replacement septic system. Because the original records do not accurately depict the location of the existing 19 foot X 19 foot crib it is difficult to determine the exact separation distance from the new trenches. Box 596 Eagle River, Alaska RE: Test Hole And Soil Log Report For Sanitary System Lot 14 Block 2, Pruess Subdivision Dear Mr. Zimmerman: We are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments regard- ing soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of August 1975, and those proce- dures outlined in a letter dated July 15, 1975 by }~. Rolf Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environmental Quality. A single test hole was put down within the Lot 14 area for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the proposed sanitary system. Excavation was accomplished with a tractor-mounted backhoe and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 14.0 feet below ground surface. One sample was recovered from the bottom of the test hole and retained for grain size analysis. The sample will be held in storage, up to approximate- ly one month, for possible testing before it is discarded. The final log prepared for the test hole has been included in Drawing A-01. Ground water was not encountered in the test hole. We appreciate being given this opportunity to be of service to you.
