Ref: Proposed and Well Septic System Design for Lot 27B, Shady Acres Subdivision
To whom it may concern:
The proposed 3 bedroom house will be served by a private well and septic system. One test hole
was excavated in the area of the proposed septic system by H. H. Wilson, P.E. in May 1995. The
proposed septic system will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. We are
proposing that a 1000 gallon septic tank and dual five foot wide drainfields be installed. The
property owners have requested that we install both the primary and alternate sites at this time.
Comments regarding the proposed design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitorin~
and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that an application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/ft
should be used.
2. TRENCH DESIGN:
a. Percolation Rate: 2 minutes/inch
b. Allowable Application Rate: 1.2 gallons/day/ft2
c. Number of Bedrooms: 3
d. Design Flow: 450 gallons per day
e. Minimum Absorption Area: 375 ft2
f. Total Depth: 9.5 feet (max.)
g. Effective Depth: 4 feet
h. Width: 5 feet
i. Reduction Factor: 0.50
j. Minimum Length: 40 feet long each
k Effective absorption area = 400 ft2 each

3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed design.
4. TOPOGRAPHY: The area for the proposed septic system is mostly flat; in short, there are
no slope concerns.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic
