Dear On-Site Services Engineer:
The owner of the above lot would like to replace his aging septic tank. The attached site plan
identifies the location of the home, existing well, and septic system locations. No conflicts exist
between this proposed tank and any other well or septic system, whether on this lot or adjacent
lots.
Wells on this and adjacent lots are shown. The new tank will be more than 10’ from the foundation
and 5 from the field. Please refer to the attached site plan for the new tank location. If this design
is followed, there will be no adverse impacts to adjacent properties.

Permit Application
In accordance with AMC 15.65.030, the following information is provided in support of
an On -site Wastewater Disposal System Permit Application for the subject property:
1. The subject property currently has a 4 bedroom single family dwelling with an
existing well and an undocumented on -site wastewater disposal system.
Unknown persons installed the existing wastewater system. The existing
septic tank appears to be a single compartment tank of an unknown size,
which is within the 100-foot protective radius of the well on the property. The
soils absorption system appears to be a pit of an unknown size, which shows
signs of impending collapse. This application is for a 4 bedroom single-family
dwelling.
2. The property lies adjacent to Huffman Road and Cange Street. The lot is in
the shape of a rectangle and is bounded by the West Y2 of Lot 7 and Lot 6B
of Boyles Subdivision. Both Lot 6B and W Y2 Lot 7 have on -site wells and
wastewater systems.
3. The property is generally flat with a 5% slope to the northwest at the north
end of the lot.
4. The area, where the replacement soils absorption system will exist is located
in the northwest corner of the lot. There appears to be sufficient area for a
replacement system between this system and the 100-foot protective radius
at the north end of the lot.
5. A new 1,250-gallon septic tank will be installed and the existing septic tank
removed. The existing pit will be collapsed and backfilled/
6. The soils found during the soils test were sandy silt and silty sandy gravel.
No water was observed in the test holes, or in subsequent monitoring.

7. Percolation tests were performed in the sandy silt and were between 55 and
56 minutes per inch. A percolation rate of 60 minutes per inch was assumed.
Based upon this percolation rate, a loading rate of 0.45 gal/day/S.F. was
assumed.
8. The effective depth of the trench will be 7.0 feet below the distribution pipe.
There will be two trenches in parallel and will be at least 47.5 feet long. The
trenches will be 14 feet apart. This will provide for a total of at least 1,330 sq
ft of absorption area. This will allow the bottom of the trench to be at least 6
feet above an impermeable layer or bedrock and at least 4 feet above
seasonally high ground water.
9. There are existing wells and on -site wastewater disposal systems on W'/2 Lot
7 and Lot 6b of the adjacent lots. There are no wells, or surface waters within
100 feet of the proposed system.
10. Since all lots adjacent to this property are developed, it does not appear the
system on this property will prevent development of the adjacent lots.
Based upon the data and drawings attached, it appears a permit for this wastewater
