Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6650 Ref: Proposed Septic System Design for Lot 7C, Block 2; Eklutna tleights Subdivision To whom it may concern: Previously, there was a mobile home on the subject property that was served by a private septic system. The trailer has been removed and the builder is proposing to construct a three (3) bedroom house on the property that will be served by a new septic system and a community water system. One test hole was excavated north of the existing drainfield. The septic system will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. We are proposing that a 1000 gallon septic tank and dual five foot wide drainfields be installed. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that an application rate of 0.8 gallons/day/ft2 should be used. 2. TRENCII DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: <1 minutes/inch b. Proposed Application Rate: 0.8 gallons/day/ft2 c. Number ofBedrooms: 3 d. Design Flow: 450 gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 563 ft2 f. Total Depth: 7.5 feet (max.) g. Effective Depth: 4 feet h. Width: 5 feet i. Reduction Factor: 0.50 j. Minimum Length: 60 feet long each (2 (~ 30 feet) k Effective absorption area = 600 ft2 each 3. TOPOGRAPHY: The area for the proposed septic system is mostly flat; in short, there are no slope concerns. STATEMENT OF INSPECTION BY ENGINEER As certified by my seal affixed hereto and as of the validation date shown below, I verify that my investigation, based on procedures outlined in the Certificate of On -Site Systems Approval Guidelines for this application, shows that the on-site water supply and/or wastewater disposal system is (are) safe, functional and adequate for the number of bedrooms and type of structure indicated herein. I further verify that based on the information obtained from the Municipality of Anchorage files and from my investigation and inspection, the on-site water supply and/or wastewater disposal system is(are) in compliance with all applicable Municipal and State codes, ordinances, and regulations in effect at the time of installation. The reported results describe the condition of the system/s on the date/s of the evaluation. Separation distances were measured to readily identifiable features. Hidden defects or encroachments may exist that were not identified during the evaluation. The operational life of all wells and septic systems depend upon a variety of variables, including but not limited to, soil conditions, groundwater levels (that may fluctuate during the year), quality of construction (materials and workmanship), and the water usage of the family utilizing the system/s. These conditions can vary, and are outside the control of GEG. Satisfactory test results do not guarantee future performance of the system/s; therefore, GEG makes no warranty (express or implied) regarding the future performance of the well or septic system. GEG makes no representation whether an alternative well or septic system can be installed on the property in the event either of the current systems fail to perform adequately in the future. The septic tank was pumped and verified to have a capacity of 1000 gallons. The absorption trench was tested by a continuous flow of water over a period of 48 hours. An average 520 gallons for a 24 hour period was added to the system without any adverse effects. It can be concluded from this test that the waste water disposal system serving the three bedroom trailer located on this property is currently functioning adequately.
