A test hole was excavated in the area of the proposed septic system. The septic system will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. We are proposing that a new 1250 gallon septic tank and also a deep trench type drainfield be installed. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that due to the overall appearance of the soils, an application rate of 0.6 gallons/day/ft2 should be used. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: 20 minutes/inch b. Allowable Application Rate: 0.6 gallons/day/ft2 c. Number of Bedrooms: 4 d. Design Flow: 600 gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 1000 ft2 f Total Depth: 10 feet (max.) g.
