This is a developed subdivision. This is a large lot. The existing septic system to be decommissioned. No adverse impacts are expected from tank/trench upgrade. No conflicts to the other lots will take place by this septic system construction upgrade. A new soil test reveals silty sand w/gravel&cobbles. An application rate of 1.2 GPD/FT2. Length =500 FT2/6'x 2 =42' trench (6' effective); Say 1 trench @ 42'. Water wells are drawn. Additional data supports this design: The well log on the subject property lists a depth @ 262',no bedrock.This well log lists the static water level @ 235'. Two test holes were completed on the neighbor lot directly across the street, Sky Manor Lot 7A. This TH#9 has a soils log @ 17'depth- multiple monitor dates with no groundwater. TH#10 is a similar test hole with no groundwater indicated. Lot 48 to the north lists a previous test hole @ 10'depth with no groundwater. Little Peters Creek is located in a deep chasm directly to the east as indicated on drawing. The depth of the surface water is over 40'. No sign of elevated groundwater levels seeping from steep slope. Specification Requirements: All components and work must comply with the Municipality of Anchorage Specifications (AMC) & State of Alaska Drinking Water Regulations and Wastewater Regulations. • Two compartment, New 1250 gallon septic tank. Install Double Cleanouts. • Install new foundation cleanout/sewer service if required. • 10' minimum between the tank trench,tank to house. 10' to property lines, • 3' of cover or insulation is required for trench; 2" Minimum thickness for insulation can substitute for I' cover. • Tank& solid pipe must be set on well compacted, stable soil. • 4 inch diameter cleanouts with airtight caps are required 1' to 4' from foundation wall, prior to any 90 degree bend in 4 inch line, in each tank compartment, and two adjacent opposing cleanouts between the tank and the absorption field,not more than 10' from the tank positioned to provide cleanout access towards the tank and towards the absorption field. • All cleanouts must extend to at least ground level. • In solid pipe runs, ASTM D-3034 may be used in lieu of cast iron. • Trench to be placed level, minimum of 4' to groundwater, 6' to bedrock from drain-rock. • NIFTRIM MNEERING SteveEng.com Tundra Jewel Ranch Lot 21 • Drain rock to be 1/2 inch to 2 inch screened.
