The attached site plan identifies the location of the home as well as the proposed well, septic location and alternate site. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any wells, whether on this lot or adjacent lots. Drainage arrows are shown on the site plan showing the grade and direction of flow. The drainage pattern in general will not be changed by the construction. The test hole placed on the lot indicates silty gravel (GM/GW). No groundwater or bedrock was found down to 14’. The percolation rate was determined to be 3.9 min/in. All of the test holes in the subdivision had similar soils and perk rates, and none developed groundwater. The test hole on this lot is actually upslope from where the house is proposed, so it is unusable for the septic design. As the soils throughout the subdivision were so uniform, we are asking permission to dig a new test hole at the time of construction. The soils log and perk rates will be submitted to on-site before construction continues, and if the different soils are encountered a new design will be submitted for a change order review. An application rate of 1.2 gpd/sf was used in the design of the absorption system. We are proposing to place a new 1250-gallon septic tank with a deep absorption trench 3’ wide x 42’ long x 6’ effective depth. The elevation of the distribution line will be 2’ below the surface for a total depth of 8’. Soil will be mounded 0.5’ above the trench. A minimum of 2” of insulation and 2’ of fill will be placed over the absorption trench and 4’ over the septic tank. The ground surface on the lot slopes only moderately on the lot, between 5-15%. There are no areas that slope greater than 25% anywhere on the lot.
