Casing has been extended to 18 inches along with other upgrades to meet MOA requirements. The well was flow tested at 9.26 gpm maximum flow for the pump until a level draw down of 50.5 feet was reached and it held there for one hour plus. Well Depth is 69 feet with a static level of 12 feet and pump setting of 53 feet. There was no entrancing water coming into the well above 40 feet when the well was drawn down to 50.5 feet. Water samples were taken and will be turned into SGS 5-7-18. David L. Per AWWU record drawings, the sewer main was installed in 1981. Per the as-built survey and AWWU record drawings, it is believed that the well is approximately 43 feet from the sewer main. We are requesting that your department issue a variance from the required separation distance of 75 feet from well head to sewer main down to 40 feet. Justification for granting this waiver is as follows: • The well was drilled prior to the installation of the sewer main; a waiver should have been applied for by AWWU prior to the installation of the sewer main. • Per documentation provided to us by AWWU (attached), a waiver was requested for Hillcrest; Block 3, Lots 6 & 9. It is our opinion that this letter was intended to include lot 8 (since the encroachment existed at the time). • Per code at time of installation (1974), the required separation distance from well to sewer main was 50 feet. • Water samples were taken for total nitrate and bacteria. The nitrates were non- detectable and the coliform sample came back negative. In short, it does not appear to have negatively affect the drinking water quality. • This encroachment has existed for approximately 37 years.
