We are submitting this permit application for the construction of a new well and septic system to serve the new home. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home as well as the proposed well, septic location and alternate site. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system, whether on this lot or adjacent lots. The ground surface on the lot slopes toward the south at a grade approximating 10% in the area of the proposed absorption system. No surface slopes greater than 25% are within 50 feet downslope of either the primary or alternate site. Drainage arrows are shown on the site plan showing the grade and direction of flow. Storm water drainage will not impact this septic system. Little usable area is available on the lot for the absorption system due to high groundwater. The new system will be constructed at the original ground surface with the top of fill approximately 3' above the existing surface. We request a waiver be issued allowing the side slopes of the finished berm to be 2:1. The outer 4" of the berm will be constructed with topsoil and revegetation will be completed to insure no erosion can occur. The berm will be maintained until a flourishing stand of grass is obtained. Wells on this and adjacent lots are shown. The new absorption system will be a minimum of 100' from all wells and surface water, and more than 5' from the septic tank. The STEP tank is more than 10' from the house foundation. Please refer to the attached test hole log, plan and profile sheets for the septic design. If this design is followed,there will be no adverse impacts to adjacent properties.
