Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing Special Provisions: The entire proposed primary drainfield is not within the 30 ft radius of a percolation test. In addition, the east drainfield is not within 30 ft of a test hole that demonstrates separation to groundwater and impermeables. An additional test hole is required prior to construction to confirm minimum vertical separations are being met and to confirm the percolation rate along the entire length of the drainfields. If the results require a design change, construction shall stop pending Onsite review and approval of a change order. Please submit results with the inspection report. We are submitting this design and permit application for the construction of a new septic system. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home and the existing well along with the proposed septic locations. No conflicts exist between the proposed system and any other well or septic system on this or adjacent lots. The ground surface on the lot slopes gently southwesterly. There are no slopes greater than 25% within 50 feet downslope of the proposed site. Drainage arrows are shown on the site plan showing the grade and direction of flow. Stormwater drainage will not impact this septic system. The new trench will be constructed parallel to the slope as much as possible. Wells on this and adjacent lots are shown. The new system will be a minimum of 100’ from all wells and surface water, and more than 5’ away from the septic tank. There is an existing well on the lot, although there is no record indicating when it was drilled. Recently, SullivanWaterWells verified the depth, installed a temporarypump, and tested the well flow. The flow was near 2 gal/min, and the homeowner was not satisfied with the flow rate or their assessment of the water quality. They would like to drill a new well closer to the eastern portion of the lot. Although typicallya lot needs to have a septic system in orderto get a well permit,there are times where a permit can be approved before the system is installed. In this case,there is already a well on the lot.The owners are not planning on selling the lot if they don't find better water;this lot is next to their family, and they definitelyplan on building on it. Their reasoning is that they want to know definitely where their well will be before they dig test holes for the septic system, in case they end up needing to move the proposed septic location. In short,there is no additional risk to digging a new well on this lot before the septic system is permitted.
