Ref: Septic System Upgrade for: Seaview Heights S/D; Lot 6, Block 2, (Lot 4A)
To whom it may concern:
The existing 5 bedroom house is served by a community well and a private septic system. The
septic system is undersized and must be upgraded. One test hole was excavated in the southeast
corner of the property. We are proposing that a new 1500 gallon septic tank and a deep trench
type drainfield be installed. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring,
and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that due to the overall appearance of the soils, an
application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/ft2 should be used.
2. TRENCH DESIGN:
a. Percolation Rate: 5 minutes/inch
b. Proposed Application Rate: 1.2 gallons/day/ft2
c. Number of Bedrooms: 5
d. Design Flow: 750 gallons per day
e. Minimum Absorption Area: 500 ft2
f. Total Depth: 12 feet(max.)
g. Effective Depth: 9 feet
h. Width: 2.5 feet
i. Reduction Factor: N/A
j. Minimum Length: 35 feet long total
k. Effective absorption area=630 ft2
3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100+ feet of the proposed
septic system.
4. TOPOGRAPHY: The average topography in the area of the proposed drainfield is
approximately 10-15% running northeast to southwest. In short, there are no slope

concerns.
5. LOT LINE WAIVER: We request that you department issue a 1-foot lot line waiver
from the south west and south east property lines to the proposed drainfield. There are
no septic systems within 50' on either of the adjoining properties. I am unaware of any
adverse impacts this waiver would have on adjacent wells or septic systems.

Dear Mrs. Dodds:
This letter is in response to the letter received in this office March 9, 1995, requesting a
waiver from the routine monitoring requirements which your system has been testing.
The Department has completed its review of the submitted materials and information on
file in this office regarding this system. Based upon this review the Department grants the
requested waiver in accordance with State Drinking Water Regulations (18 AAC 80.200)
subject to the following conditions:
1. A review of the sampling history for this water system indicates that there have
been no reported monitoring violations for the previous 12 consecutive
months.
2. This system was reclassified to a Class "C" water system on March 6, 1989,
by this Department. Class "C" water systems do not normally require routine
monitoring unless the source is determined by the Department to be at risk to
contamination.
3. Satisfactory water sample analysis for nitrate will need to be submitted to this
office.
4. The Department recommends that quarterly sampling for total coliform bacteria
and annual sampling for nitrate be conducted to monitor the quality of the
water from this system.

Dear Mr. Cross:
Our client, Mr. Loren Dobbs, we are applying for a health approval loan certification for a 2
bedroom dwelling.
We have previously completed an adequacy test in March of 1997 to allow DHHS evaluation
and approval of the existing leachfield area for purposes of a re-plat when the lot was known as
Seaview Heights Lots 4 , Block 2 . This test passed by a large margin. The lot was replated and
is now know as the above legal description. The lot is served by an existing community well
which is located on the lot and has prior approvals to operate by ADEC. Attached are ADEC
documents pertaining to the well and waivers that were obtained for the well certification. We
have not tested the well.
