Box 196650 Anchorage, AK 99519-6650 Subject: Upgrade Sewer Permit- Sun Valley Heights B1, L8 It has been determined that the absorption field of the subject property has failed. Subsequently, the owner has requested we proceed forward to obtain a septic permit to upgrade the septic system that serves the 3-bedroom house. The general slope of this lot is from the northeast to southwest at a grade of approximately 5-10% over the septic area. On November 21, 2018 a testhole was performed to investigate soils and groundwater. The results of this test are attached for your review. We propose to install a 47' long deep trench. Groundwater was not encountered during excavation or at monitoring. The property and adjacent lots are served by a Class A community water system. There is no surface water within 100' of the proposed system and there are no known curtain drains within 50'. To whom it may concern: Attached is the application, and site plan, for the subject septic tank replacement. The separation distance to the community well (Class A) is much greater than 200 feet and all of the adjacent lots (Lots 1 thru 10, Block 1, Sun Valley Heights S/D) are served by this well. Consequently, there are no private wells to be concerned with. The new septic tank will be placed in the exact location of the existing one, and is greater than 10 feet from,, the water main, and greater than 5 feet from the property S-ine. I am unaware of any impacts that this installation would impose on the public well, or adjacent septic systems. The attached copy of the inspection report, filed in October of 1971, shows the general location of the septic tank. My inspection report will be a detailed as -built. The new tank will conform to, and be installed in accordance with, AMC 15.65. The existing septic tank has collapsed, and will not accept wastewater from the residence.
