However, our measurements demonstrate that the septic tank is outside of the foundation soil bearing prism. We are submitting this permit application for the construction of a new septic system. A well is currently in place on the lot and will be utilized to serve the new home. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home and the exiting well along with the proposed septic location and alternate site. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system on this lot or adjacent lots. The ground surface on the lot slopes to the southwest at grades approaching 25%. The absorption trench has been designed to comply with the steep slope provisions of the Municipal Code. The distribution line is set at 5.0’ below the surface and no surface disturbance will occur within 50’ down grade from the absorption trench. Ground contours are shown on the site plan indicating the grade and direction of flow. Stormwater drainage will not impact this septic system. The new trench will be constructed parallel to the slope as much as possible. The new system will be a minimum of 100’ from all wells and 100’ from surface water and more than 5’ from the septic tank. The test hole will be deepened to a minimum of 15’ prior to construction to verify the lack of impermeable soil layers. An additional percolation test will be performed to verify the consistency of the accepting soils. We request a provision be added to the permit requiring the test hole be deepened and an additional percolation test performed. Please refer to the attached test hole log and plan and profile sheets for the septic design. If this design is followed, there will be no adverse impacts to adjacent properties. The cabin located on this property is non-livable and I have no plan to have anyone occupy it or rent it out. If the cabin or well would be used in the future I would first get required permits thru the MOA. The septic was decommissioned on this property- see attached invoice. The well was also disabled by removing pump/guts and a steel cap welded on top- see attached invoice.
