The tank was recently replaced. A requirement of the tank replacement permit was to document or replace the existing soil absorption system. The existing crib system was excavated and found to be full and on the verge of collapse. We are proposing to install a new drainfield to replace the failed system. The existing crib will be abandoned in place by removing the top and filling it in. We are requesting that a change order be approved to include the installation of the proposed drain field. A testhole was excavated and a percolation test and 7 day groundwater monitoring was performed. The Soils were found to be relatively free draining sand over a silty layer.
