This accounts for only a portion of the trench, and the majority of the is more than 10’ from the lot line. The percolation rate of the underlying soil is under 5 minutes per inch. Effluent absorption is expected to be downward with little or no migration in a horizontal direction. The trench is located more than 100’ from all wells in the area and more than 20’ away from the existing septic on Lot 3 to the west. The placement of the system at its current location will have no adverse impact on the well or septic system on this or adjacent lots. We hereby request a waiver for the reduced separation of 9’ between trench and property line. We are submitting this permit application for the construction of a new septic system. The lot is served by the public water system. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home and the proposed septic location and alternate site. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system on this lot or adjacent lots. The ground surface on the lot slopes to the southwest at grades approximating 20%. There are no slopes greater than 25% within 50 feet downslope of either the primary or alternate site. Ground contours are shown on the site plan indicating the grade and direction of flow.
