2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska
Wastewater Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80)
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer shall notify the Development
Services Department per AMC 15.65. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24/7).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather
shall be either:
a. Opened and Closed on the same day, or
b. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing
Special Provisions:

• An additional percolation test is required prior to construction of the septic field. Please submit stamped
and signed results with the As -built Inspection Report. If the results require a design change, construction
of the system will stop pending On -Site review and approval.

The owners of the newly constructed 4 -bedroom single family home would like to change the septic
design from AWWTS to conventional treatment. This is possible now that they do not intend to construct
a detached shop/ADU on the property, which allows adequate area on the lot to construct a conventional
drainfield.
The AWWTS was already constructed last year, but the permit hasn't been closed out due to waiting for
an asbuilt survey. All of the AWWTS components will need to be removed except for the Infiltrator IM -
1530 septic tank. The tank risers will be relocated on the tank such that the manhole riser is over the first
tank chamber and a new larger drainfield will be constructed. Please see the design sheets for further
details.
There are no anticipated probable adverse impacts to adjacent properties if the septic system is
constructed as designed. This includes: a. Wells; b. Wastewater disposal systems; c. Replacement disposal
sites; and d. Drainage flowing onto and off of the subject property that could adversely affect performance
of the wastewater disposal system.

3. The existing AWWTS is being converted to conventional treatment.

in this design.
