TEST PROCEDURE: The leachfield was filled with water from the onsite wells at
an average rate of 6 GPM for 610 gallons. The septic tank and leachfield sump
water levels were monitored referencing a measurement below the top of the
standpipes. During the test, water was added through the monitor tube and the
sump water level was monitored as water was added and then absorbed into the
surrounding soil. The water level in the monitor tube rose 7.5" after
addition of 600 gallons of water. Measurements were taken after 24 hours of
the sump water level with return to original starting level. The monitoring
indicates the system will accept the required 150 gallons per day of effluent,
per bedroom, which is the required absorption rate for Municipal approval.
TEST RESULTS: The septic system absorption rate meets the requirements of the
Municipality of Anchorage, for a 4 bedroom single family residence as of the
day the system was tested. The operational life and the matter of compliance
with State and Municipal codes for all water and septic systems depends on the
local soil conditions, groundwater levels that may not be observed from the
surface without additional testing, water usage of the homes being served by
the system, and the detail of required testing procedure. There is no
guarantee that the well and septic system tested will meet the requirements
f`or approval in the: future. The test data and investigation of existing
conditions is provided to our client for submittal to the Municipal Health
Department for their review and approval. Any concerns with this test report
should be discussed with the testing engineer. If it is requested, we will
_submit the report directly to the Municipality. It should be noted that the
septic leaohfield was installed with an absorption capacity of 324 sq. ft.
While this is currently adequate for 600 GPD, the reduction in capacity will
affect the longevity of the septic system. The approval of this septic system
will. be determinate on Municipal review and approval.

.A sewer system adequacy test was performed on 30 April 1979 and 1 May 1979,
per your request. The septic tank was pumped and.found to have a capacity
.of 1250 gallons and is adequate to serve a 4 bedroom residence.
The seepage pit upon -inspection was found to.be full of water. Approximately
800 gallons of water were removed and the pit recharged with 1000 gallons of
fresh water. Measurements were taken both before and after the water was
added. After a 24 hour period measurements taken indicated that nb
measurable amount of water had percolated from the pit.
As a result of the above survey and test it can be concluded that the
septic tank is adequate. However, I regret to inform you that: the seepage
pit is not functioning adequately to serve the residence located on the
reference property.
