Box 196650 Anchorage, AK 99519-6650 RE: Preliminary Plat Hillside North Addition No. 8 (S-100307) Soils Investigation for on-site Septic Dear Mr Cross, RECEIVED SEP 3 1998 Dept- Health 1&Human Seot rvices The following soil report is being submitted for your review and approval in accordance with Title 15.65, 180. We completed the field work on August 18, 1998. We placed one test pit on each lot (See enclosed sketch). The soils investigation included digging test pits to a depth of 16 ft using a track backhoe. Soils were visually classified and a 4" perforated monitoring tube was placed in each pit. Enclosed is a test hole location map and test hole logs covering the soils investigation. Hillside North Subdivision, Addition No. 8 is a continuation of the planned development which has been under construction over the last 8 or 9 years. The soils are very consistent with all earlier plats. The soils consist primarily of slightly silty sandy gravels overlaid by a foot of organic material. There are minor variations in soil strata throughout the area. No water was encountered in any of the test pits. The percolation rates are in the range of one minute per inch. In accordance with Title 15.65.180 - B.1 (Subdivision Standards), Table 2, each lot has a minimum 10,000 sq. ft. of Total Reserve Area. The enclosed location map identifies the area on each lot which meets the standard. There is adequate area on each of the four lots for on site septic systems and a domestic well. truly*P.E. Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6650 RE: Preliminary Plat Hillside North Subdivision - Addition No. 8 Domestic Water Availability Dear Mr. Cross, RECEIVED SEP 3 1998 Municipality of Anchorage DePt. Health & Human Services The proposed subdivision consists of 4 lots ranging in size from 2.8 acres to 7 acres; not including the 20+ tract.. This is a large lot, low density development. Water availability in all additions to date has been excellent. The static water level ranges from 34' to 162' below the surface. Flow rates are reported to range from 4gpm to 30gpm. Well depths are ranging from 173' to 410'. The majority of the wells are finding adequate water in the shallower zone. The geology in this area of the watershed consists of glacial till over weathered, highly fractured bedrock. The topography and geology indicate that we should continue to find an adequate supply of water within the proposed subdivision. In addition, due to the make up of the aquifer and low density development, this development should not impact the water supply in adjacent subdivision. We would appreciate your approval of the preliminary plat. Very truly yours, Dee High, P.E. Principal cc: Roger Cremo 3341c2s.1tr Dimond Center Tower, 5th Floor • 800 E.
