Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6650 Ref: Proposed Septic Upgrade for Lot 17; Sunny Valley Subdivision To whom it may concern: The existing 3 bedroom house is served by a private well and septic system. The existing septic system is undocumented and is within the 100' well radius; therefore we are proposing to abandon the existing drainfield and install a new one. A test hole was excavated on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. We are proposing to install u 1000 gallon septic tank and it 5 -wide trench type drainfield. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that an application rate of 0.8 gallons/day/112 should be used. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: 5.5 minutes/inch b. Proposed Application Rate: 0.8 gallons/day/112 c. Number of Bedrooms: 3 d. Design Flow: 450 gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 562.5 R2 f. Total Depth: 5.5 feet (max.) g. Effective Depth: 3 h. Width: 5 feet i. Reduction Factor: 0.58 j. TOPOGRAPHY: The area around the proposed drainfields is a 10-15 percent slope running approximately north to south; in short, there are no slope concerns.
