On the subject septic installation, permit No. SW050315, the excavator over -dug one of the
trenches — below the maximum allowed depth. There were 2 trenches, and he dug them both
the same, based upon the OG at the test hole. Since one was too deep, I had him dig another
test hole to verify lack of bedrock and water. I will monitor it for 7 days and submit it with the
inspection report.

To Whom It May Concern:
Attached please find the application and supporting documentation to install a well and
septic system for a proposed 6 bedroom house. The property is a 112 acre parcel
which has been proposed for subdividing, as Chugach Park, Case No. S-11125, by F.R.
Bell and Associates. There is currently no development within 200 ft of the proposed
well and septic system.
The proposed septic design is based upon a test hole dug on August 5, 2005. The hole
was dug to 15 ft with no water encountered. After a 7 day monitoring period, no water
was detected. The proposed drainfield is a deep trench installed in a sand and gravel
layer between 4 ft and 9 ft. A percolation test conducted between 7.5 ft and 8.0 ft
resulted in a rate of 2 minutes per inch. An application rate of 1.2 gpd/ff is used in the
design. The soil log is attached.

There are 2 creeks running through the property. The proposed septic system will
maintain a separation distance of 100 ftto the creeks. It will be located more than 100 ft
from the proposed private well serving the property.
I am not aware of any adverse effect that this upgrade would have on any adjacent
properties' water and wastewater treatment needs.
