Anything In the warranty notwithstanding, IMPLIED WARRANTIES FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND MERCHANTABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS WAR- RANTY. MANUFACTURER EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS AND EXCLUDES ANY LIABILITY OF CONSEQUENTIAL DAM- AGES FOR BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WAR- RANTY. WARRANTY POLICY RED JACKET Water Pumps RED JACKET pumps are guaranteed as to workmanship and material and are guaranteed to do all we claim for them when properly Installed, used, and cared for. Should any part, or parts prove defective within 12 months from date of original Installation or24 months from date of man- ufacture, It will be repaired or replaced F.O.B. our factory or authorized service station without charge, provided the part (or parts) is returned transportation charges prepaid. No allowance will be made for labor, transportation, or other charges Incurred In the replacement or repair of de- fective parts by customer. We will not be responsible for labor charges, loss, or damages caused by defective parts. This warranty does not apply when damage Is caused by sand or abrasive materials pumped with the water, corro- slon due to acid waters, Improper voltage supply, light- ning, careless handling, or Improper Installation. Failure to use copper cable of correct size will void the warranty on the unit. Our warranty will be void If the Installation Is made with any magnetic starter or protector of Improper size or type. On some Installations "phase converters" are used to obtain a three-phase power supply from a single-phase power source. The use of phase converters may cause an unbalance between the three phases and cause damage to the motor. For this reason we will NOT extend warranty coverage on any units Installed with phase converters. Supplemental Lifetime Warranty In addition to the warranty policy set forth above, should any part (or parts) of the RED JACKET submersible unit fall due to corrosion at any time while owned by the original customer and when Installed In a potable water well, It will be replaced F.O.B. our factory or authorized distributor without charge, provided the unit Is returned with proof of purchase and transportation charges are prepaid. No al- lowance will be made for labor, transportation, or other charges Incurred In the replacement of the defective unit by customer. We will not be responsible for loss or dam- ages caused by defective parts. Pan No. 051-163 12185 The RED JACKET submersible motor Is designed to pump potable water at temperatures up to 800F. For ap- plications where the unit will be pumping other liquids or water at higher temperatures, the factory should be con- sulted before making the Installation. Failure to do so will void the warranty. NOTE Installation procedures may vary between states. Refer to your state water well code for proper Installation regulations. Refer to your local electrical code for proper wiring procedures. TO THE PURCHASER The RED JACKET submersible unit Is designed to give long, trouble free service. Experiencehas Indicated that Ill. tie or no attention Is necessary once a submersible unit has been properly Installed. Many service tails on submer- sible units have been due to an Improper Installation. For this reason, we strongly recommend following the outline provided paying particular attention to the precautions noted when Installing the unit. The majority of service calls on submersible units are electrical In nature. All RED JACKET submersible units are thoroughly tested throughout the manufacturing process for electrical continuity and resistance to avoid any possi- ble need for service. In the unlikely event that electrical problems do occur, a complete electrical testing proce- dure Is Included In this manual for your use or use by a qualified technician of your choice. This motor Is for deep well applications and should not be used in surface water such as lakes, rivers or swimming pools where physical contact with the unit or water may cause electrical shock. Water samples taken by a qualified person shall also be submitted for the water well in question.
