Bragaw Street Anchorage, Alaska 99519 Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writin§ to request a permit to construct a new well and septic system be issued for this property. The proposed systems will serve a new four-bedroom house. Currently the lot is undeveloped. The surrounding lots are served by private water systems and are over 100 feet from the proposed soil absorption system. Soils. See the attached soils log. Ground water was monitored for 17 days. Ground water was monitored at a depth 4.5 feet below ground level on October 15, 2008 in TH3 after the monitoring period. Bedrock was not encountered in the test hole. It is my opinion that the overall soils appearance of the soils, an application rate of 2 gallons/day/square feet should be used using a Class III advanced treatment system (Advantex AX20 Treatment System with an Auxiliary Pump Vault). 2. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed system. The proposed systems will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 4. Topography: The average topography in the area of the proposed septic system is approximately 10 to 20 percent. The lot steepens to the east to 25%. The proposed system will be installed in the southeast corner of the lot. The area west of the septic system slopes gently at 5 to 3.0 percent, and then drops off to the neighboring lot at approximately 3.5 to 20 percent. The proposed installation will be greater than 50 feet from the shoulder of the steep slopes. The proposed installation will not affect the future development of the surrounding or existing lots. There are no wells or septic systems within 3.00 feet of the proposed septic location. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 272-823.8. Sincerely, Steven R. Pannone, P.E.
