LOT 17A – WAIVERS Per the attached as-built survey by John Schuller, RLS dated August 23, 2021— it appears that the recently installed septic tank serving the house is within 100’ of the existing well. It also appears the original septic and as-built surveys (RP Kinney, PE and Kevin Smith, RLS) were not entirely accurate. The tank for the house was replaced in the same location as the original tank and connected to the existing DCOs. Ken Lang, RLS staked the well radius prior to installation and Northern Excavation kept outside of those 100' stakes. We had Schuller go back out to verify and he's within 1-2 hundredths accuracy and we trust his work. Per the attached as-built, 97' waivers to field and tank to well and 3' to tank to field (this was confirmed at tank install excavation) are necessary. This should have been addressed originally and we are requesting the fees to be waived and perhaps wrap this request into the 75' existing tank to well waiver for the ADU. We are therefore requesting waivers to 97’ between the referenced well and septic tank and field and a 3’ tank to field be granted at this time. Granting of these waivers is justified in the fact that the well is up gradient from the septic and the slopes continue away from the well with no chance of surface effluent reaching the well. The well is on the opposite side of the house and there have been no known issues or influence over the past few decades from the previous existing tank to the well and/or field. Granting of the waivers is further justified by the improved HDPE tank and good nitrate results (1.09 mg/L). Granting of these waivers will not impact any of the neighboring properties. LOT 17A The owner has requested that we obtain a septic permit to upgrade the existing aged steel septic tanks on the above referenced lot. We propose to install two 1000-gallon HDPE tanks per the attached design to serve the existing 3-bedroom residence and 1-bedroom ADU. The tank serving the ADU will maintain the 75’+ separation to the well per previous MOA waiver.
