We are requesting a permit be issued for the construction of a new well and septic system to accommodate the home. The attached Site Plan and backup documentation identify the location and configuration of the proposed well and septic system along with the alternate site. Also identified on the plans are the proposed and existing wells in the area and septic systems on surrounding lots. No conflicts exist between the proposed septic system and the well or septic systems and wells on adjacent lots. Drainage arrows and ground contours are shown on the site plan showing the grade and direction of flow on the lot. The drainage pattern will not be changed as a result of this project. No surface water is currently seen in the easements and no evidence of past drainage was noted. The test holes placed on the lot indicated silty gravel with sand (GM). The percolation rate of the soil was determined to be 9 to 11 minutes per inch. Groundwater was found during the placement of the test holes and stabilized during the monitoring period at 7' below the surface on October 14, 2015. An application rate of .5 gallons per day per square foot was used in the design of the absorption bed. We are proposing to place a new 1,250 -gallon STEP tank and a 900 square foot absorption bed in the configuration shown on the Site Plan to treat and dispose of the effluent generated in the house. The total absorption area for the bed will be 900 square feet. The elevation of the distribution line in the absorption bed will be 2.5' below the existing ground with a total depth of 3.0' from existing ground at the north end which will be the basis of elevation control. The existing ground surface in the area of the bed slopes 1' from north to south. Total depth of the bed will be 3' below existing ground at the north end as stated above and 2' at the south end due to the slope of the existing ground. Coarse sand will be utilized to level the bottom of the absorption bed as required. A minimum of 2" of insulation and 2' of fill will be placed over the absorption bed and 4' over the septic tank. No fill may be placed on the adjacent Lot 2. C 0'&j Lot 1, Horizon Estates April 4, 2016 Page Two The existing segment of the absorption bed which falls within the protective well radius of the well on Lot 7A, Block 1, Fire Lake Subdivision and within the cul-de-sac easement will be removed. The pipe currently in place and all drainfield rock will be removed and replaced with in situ silty gravel material. The material will be compacted to the same density as the surrounding material. The ground surface on the lot in the area of the septic system slopes to the south and southeast at a shallow grade. The new absorption bed will be constructed slightly off parallel with the contours of the slope due to the limited area available for the bed. The new septic system will be constructed a minimum of 100' from all wells and any surface water and 10' the proposed and existing water service lines in the area. If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements apply: The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells in the area or those to be constructed in the future. 2. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future. 3. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on reserve space, either surface or subsurface, on any lots located in the area. 4. The bed will be accessed with a pressure distribution system. Effluent will therefore be dispensed uniformly over the area. In addition, the subsurface soils are very good for the treatment and disposal of effluent. A minimum of .5' of drainfield rock will be placed.
