RE: Test Hole and Soil Log Report
Lot 9, Dowling Subdivision
Dear Mr. Studnek:
We are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments regard-
ing soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This investigation
was performed in accordance with the request of Mr, Roy Walker of Polar
Realty on August 21, 1975.
A total of two test holes were put down within the Lot area for the purpose
of defining general subsurface soil. conditions. Excavation was accomplished
with an auger type drilling rig and the test holes were extended to a depth
of'20.0 feet below ground surface. The general soil profile, as disclosed
by the borehole information, was found to consist of a surface layer of
organics Overlying a strata of organic silt which extended to a depth of
5.0 feet below ground surface in Test Hole #1. Below this level a stratum
of medium dense silt containing varying amounts of sand and clay was encoun-
tered and extended to the depth of investigation. In Test Hole #2, a surface
layer of organics were encountered overlying a strata of organic silt which
extended to 5.5 feet below ground surface. Below this level a stratum of
medium dense silt containing varying amounts of sand and gravel with a
trace of clay was encountered and extended to the depth of the investigation.
The final log prepared for the test holes have been included in Drawings
A-02 and A-03.
Ground water was not encountered in the test hole~
