Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519 Subject: Chugach Park Estates, Block 3, Lot 4 Septic System Permit Request Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writing request a permit to construct an upgrade four (4) bedroom septic system on this property. Currently the lot is developed. The existing drain field is in failure and will be re -used as a reserve, with an expansion to accommodate four bedrooms at the time it is re -used. The existing 1000g septic tank will be abandoned per code and will be replaced with a new 1250g septic tank. The surrounding lots are served by private wells that are over 100' from this system. Soils. Pannone Engineering Services performed one test hole on this lot in November of 2014, and groundwater was monitored for seven days. Ground water was not observed to a depth of 19.0 feet below the ground elevation in the test hole monitor tube. It is my opinion, based on the results of the soils tests and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 1 gallons/day/square feet should be used for a conventional wastewater system. 1. Soil Absorption System Design. a. See Sheet 2 of the design package. 2. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed septic tank and drain field. The proposed drain field upgrade will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 3. Topography: The existing topography slopes from east to west at approximately 35% above the field with a slope of approximately 10% across the yard downhill of the upgrade, and getting steeper at 50' below the proposed field. There are no steep slopes within 50' of the drain field. Mailing: P.O.
