Cleanout at East end of sewer line to be installed as per AWWA C-151. e. System may be subject to pressure testing to' be provided by contractor as an extra charge. Sewer Connections a. 4" service connect stub to be installed for each lot, 5' inside lot line with location marked with a 2x4 post. b. Acceptable pipe is Ductile Iron with. Tyton joints, cast .iron with Ty-seal joints, cast iron with "Romax" no-hub joints. Minimum slope 1/4" per foot. c. Construction and materials for connects shall be as specified in the 1985 AWWA Design Criteria for Sanitary Sewer Sections 33.01 - 33.03. Septic Tank a. 10,750 gallon-2 compartment, 8' diameter septic tank' approved by State D.E.C. and Municipal codes. be outlet. c. Mechanical couplings to be installed on inlet and Two 4" stand pipes .to be installed for cleanout. d. Tank to be ~roperly bedded and backfilled. If high water table is encountered appropriate anchoring may be necessary as designed by engineer as extra charge. LIFT ~TATION a. A lift station to be instal, led of poured in place Class A-3 concrete or pre fab corrosion resistant steel with a 3000 .gallon storge capacity.below the septic tank outlet invert. Ac- cess to lift station to be thru a lockable steel manhole type cover. b. Two wastewater pumps to be provided to operate in alternating fashion. Each pump to have a capacity of 100 G.P.M. at a total lead of 40 feet with inlets capable of passing 3" spheres. Each pump shall have an individual intake with wet well floor designed to avoid turbulance near the intake. c. Submersible pumps and motors shall be designed and supplied by the same manufacturer, specifically for effluent sew- age use including totally submerged operation during a portion of each pumping cycle. .The motor shall be of squirrel-cage type design without.brushes or other arc producing mechanisms. d. Suitable Anchorage Water and Wa~tewater approved shut- off and check valves shall be placed on the discharge line of each pump. The check valve shall be located between the shutoff valve and the pump. Check valves shall be suitable for the material being handled, and at an elevation higher than the maximum wet well level. Valves shall be capable of Withstanding normal pres- sure and water hammer, and be of the sprint'and level type 'to allow manual back flushing of pumps. e. Mercury switch type level controls shall be used to control sump level. To .control automatic operation of pumps, three mercury switch level controls shall be supplied. Two of these controls act to close circuit for on-off operation at se- lected levels required and to oper'ate alternator for alternation of pump on each cycle of operation. A third control acts as override and closes circuits of override to operate.both pumps together. A fourth control acts at.high water'level to close circuit of alarm.system. f. Control Cabinet of Specifidation NEMA 4 enclosure shall be furnished. For single phase pumps the control panel shall include - contractors' for each pump, circuit breakers for each pump, and H-O-A switches for each pump, and an alternating relay circuit. g. Pressure testing by contractor is required. d. ~orce main to spill into a type "A" manhole exiting from which will be the leach.field header. Septic Leach Field a. Leach field to.be installed as per Municipal and State codes with levels taken from engineer established benchmark with deviation from level not to exceed 3" per 100' ih length of trench. b. A 4" P.V.C. ASTM - 3034 header pipe to exit manhole to supply the trench system leach field. Each trench leach pi~e will tee into header with a drop in elevation from header. · c. Trenches are 5' wide, 4' total 'depth with 2' of gravel under leach pipe and 4' of mounded soil cover (over completed trench). There are 21 wide trenches, 75' long and spaced 6' apart (trench wall to trench wall). d. Trenches to be excavated so that no machinery is run on the trench bottom and septic rock is to be placed from the side so as not to compact trench bottom. e. Septic rock is to be 1/2" to 2 1/2" screened gravel specified sewer drain rock. Washed gravel is preferred if availa- ble. trench. A filter fabric material is to be placed over completed g. All M.O.A. construction standards and State D.E.C. guide- lines ~are applicable to the construction of septic leach area. h. The elevation of the trenches may be changed upon final construction survey. This would possibly change total depth of trench to 3' and 1' additional mounded cover required.
