The ground elevation of the subdivision is 172' above Eklutna Lake. The lots proposed for the subdivision are in excess of 4 acres with the largest at 9.5 Acres. These lots are substantially larger than those typically found in subdivisions requiring aquifer studies. The one well currently in place on Cranberry Ridge Subdivision was constructed in May of 1994. The total depth is 242' with casing the entire depth. No bedrock was encountered in the well. The production rate of the well was measured at 20 gallons per minute. It is reasonable to assume all wells drilled in the subdivision will produce similar results due to the proximity of Eklutna Lake. Well logs from the area indicate similar production rates in wells that range in depth from 50' to 260'. Production rates in the wells are between 8 and 20 gallons per minute. We can further assume from this information that wells in the Cranberry Ridge Subdivision will produce similar results. We are proposing to place two additional wells in the Cranberry Ridge Subdivision. It is not possible due to the size of the lots to place them as recommended for a typical aquifer study. The wells will be placed at sites which will represent standard locations relative to septic system sites and home sites on typical lots in the subdivision. Each well will be pumped in accordance with AMC 15.55.060F1 to establish the sustained yield.. In addition, the well currently in place will be subjected to a 24 hour flow test. During that period the static water levels in the outlying wells will be measured for drawdown to determine whether they are operating exclusively of each other. Water quality testing from each well will be accomplished in accordance with AMC 15.55.060F2. A formal report including detailed sustained yield results for each well will be submitted once all data is gathered and analyzed. Cranberry Ridge Subdivision October 24, 2013 Page 2 Permit applications have been made for placement of the two outlying wells in the subdivision. We hereby request your approval to complete the well and water study in this manner in lieu of a formal aquifer study. Sincerely, -It/ CCLQom, Michael E. Anderson, P.E.
