I have listed these requirements below: A letter from the Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility giving a finn date for when public sewer will be available to the subject property. The temporary holding tank may not serve the house for more than 12 months. A holding tank meeting municipal specif:kcations must be installed on the property. This installation will require a permit from this Department. The holding tank must be inspected and the well retested for nitrates and total coliform. A formal HAA application must be submitted after the preceding have been accomplished° Sincerely, Stephen S. A bacteriological test indicates that the well is currently free froml contamination. This well meets the requirements needed[ to obtain a Health Authority Approval. However, such an approval cannot be issued given the current state of failure of the septic system serving the subject lot. A full Health Authority Approval can be issued after the house has been connected to public sewer. A formal application for a Health Authority Approval should be made at that time. The well should be resampled and analyzed to provide a current report of the water quality. This report should show that the well is free from coliform bacteria and contains acceptable levels of nitrate. These tests are standard for all Health Authority Approvals. Sincerely, tephen S. The septic tank was pumped prior to the performance of the test on the seepage pit. During the test the liquid level in the seepage pit was measured before and after the addition of 1,200 gallons of water. All liquid levels were measured below the top of the standpipe and are shown in the following table: Initial Water Second 24 hour Total Reading Added Reading Reading Drop (gallons) 4.77' 2,100 3.28' 3.63' .35' The water level rose 17.88 inches with the addition of 2,100 gallons of water, indicating a capacity of 117.4 gallons per inch. Twenty-four hours later the liquid level was again measured and found to be 3.63 feet. It had dropped .35 feet or 4.2 incites. If the 2 bedroom residence ou the property is to house 4 people~ the average load on the system can be expected to be 300 gallons per day. We can therefore conclude lhat ~be system is disposing of effluent at an adequate rateifor a 2 bedroom residence. ,~ April 25, 1980 Richard Hope Page -2- We appreciate this opportunity to be of service to you.
