' Municipality of Anchorage MEMORANDUM DATE: September 5, 1986 TO: FROM: JoAnne Contreras, Co~mnunity Planning Department Steve Morris, DHHS SUBJECT: S-8421: Louise Subdivision This department has reconsidered its previous objection to the proposed subdivision in light of new information provided by Roy Inmano It appears that there is sufficient area contained on the east side of the airstrip for the installation of on-site wells and septic systems. It is not necessary to locate the individual wells serving the two proposed lots on the other (west) side of the airstrip to provide the required reserve area for the on-site disposal systems. This department has no objection to the proposal. SSM/ljw unic p lity of MEMORANDUM DATE: July 10, 1986 TO: FROM: Joanne Contreras, Community Plannding Steve Morris, DHHS, Environmental Services Division SUBJECT: S-8421: Louise Subdivision In order for this proposal to meet the minimum "septic reserve area" requirements specified in AO 15.65.145 C, wells serving both lots must be located in the extreme western portion of each lot. Dwellings and septic systems would have to be constructed in the eastern portion of each lot, across the airstrip from the well sites. This would require that water service lines cross the airstrip and extend 200 feet or more to serve these dwellings. Although this proposal can meet the technical requirements of the wastewater ordinance with such a well arrangement, locating the well across the airstrip may lead to problems maintaining or repairing the service line or electrical controls for the well pump. This department does not favor the approval of this proposal as submitted. SSM/ljw Ptease check or fill in the following: 1.
