RE: Percolation Test / Tract # I Kincald Acres Subdivision
Dear Mr. Lindow:
We have completed the percolation tests on the above mentioned lot ~vhich is to be subdividedJ
Attached are the soils logs and the percolation test results. No ground water was found in any
of the holes either during the excavation or after the required 7 day monitoring'.
Test Pit # 1 had a percolation rate of 5.3 minutes per inch. The Municipal Regulations Section
15.65.180.B. i requires that for a percolation rate between 5 and 12 minutes per inch. The lot
is required to reserve an area of 12,000 square feet for on-site septic systems.
Test Pit # 2 had a percolation rate of 3.47 minutes per inch, and Test Pit # 3 had a percolation
rate of 4.7 minutes per inch. Both of these percolation rates fall between i and 5 minutes per
inch, and the Municipality requires that an area of 10,000 square feet be reserved' on each lot
for on-site septic systems.

Subject: Soil Investigation for Sanitary Sewer System, Lot lC W%, NE%, NW%,
Section 9, T12N, R4W, Kincaid Acres, Anchorage, Alaska
Gentlemen:
At your request of May 7, 1979, we conducted a subsurface soils investigation
at the proposed location of the sanitary sewer system on the subject lot.
The investigation complied with those procedures required by the Municipality
of Anchorage Department of Health and Environmental Protection.
This investigat%on, which was accomplished on May 8, 1979, consisted of a
test hole drilled to a depth of 20 feet below the existing ground surface.
The test hole was sited according to your instructions and its location is
shown in attached Drawing A-01. Drilling was accomplished with a rotary
drill rig using continuous flight solid-stem auger with an outside diameter
of 6 inches and all material brought to the surface by the augers was con-
tinuously monitored by an experienced engineering geologist.
The topography at the drilling site is generally horizontal The top of the
test hole was located at original ground surface.
The soils encountered in the bore hole are shown in the test hole log in
Drawing A-01. This log displays specific conditions encountered at the test
location. However, subsurface conditions may vary in other parts of the lot
without any apparent surficial evidence of the change. Groundwater was not
encountered in the test hole and bedrock was not encountered. At the time
the hole was drilled seasonal frost was not present and permafrost was not
encountered.
A percolation test was performed within the bore hole at the depth shown in
the attached Table 1. Ail depths were measured from the top of the hole.
The data in Table 1 show average infiltration from the depths indicated to
the bottom of the hole. The measured percolation rate was 2.66 minutes per
inch.
