Dear P~. Moen: We 'are submitting herewith the Soil Profile Diagram concerning soil conditions at the subjec~ site. This report was prepared in accordance with your request of Nov~nfoer 30, 1976. The purpose of this report was to correlate soil conditions between existing test holes to dete~aine soil suitability for Sanitary Sewer Systems in areas where test holes -have not been drilled. On October 5 and 6, 1976, eight test holes were drilled on the subject site for the purpose of defining general subs6rface soil conditions for the proposed sanitary systems. The final logs prepared for the test holes have been included in Drawings A-01 thru A-04. The location diagram for all the test holes has been included in Drawing B-03. As illustrated by the soil profile', Drawings B-04 and B-05, and the test hole logs, the site is generally overlain by :n organic~ silty-sand~ overburden up to two feet in thickness. Beneath the surficial over- burden, relatively clean sands (predominately SW to SP) are enco,~qtere~ with thicknesses ranging from 16 feet in Test Hole 3 to one foot in Test Hole 5. In ~est Hole 7, well-graded gravels are predominate from the surface to 13 feet. The enclosed soil profile illustrates the expected soil conditions along the profile section lines. It is felt that flue soil conditions depicted in %he soil profile are reasonably accurate; however, ~is does not preclude the possibility of differing soil and, or, groundwater conditions within the subject area. This in- vestigation was performed in accordance with your request of October 5, 1976, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated July 15, 1975, by Mr. Rolf Strickland of the Municipality of Anchorage, Department of Environmental Quality. Eight test holes were put down within the subject area for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the proposed sanitary systems. Excavation was accomplished with an auger type drilling rig. The final logs prepared for the test holes has been included in Drawings A-01 through A-04. The location diagram for all the test holes has been included in Drawing B-01. Groundwater was encountered in Test Hole 6, at a depth of 11 feet while drilling. No percolation tests were performed. Test Hole 2 failed to pass a visual_inspection, but it was felt that a percolation test would show 150 ft2/ bedroom or better. Test Hole 3, containing well graded gravelly sand and less than 6% fines was drilled adjacent to Test Nole 2 on the same lot. We appreciate being given this opportunity to be of service to you. Moen Box 4002-B SRA Spenard, Alaska 99502 Re: Test Hole and Soil Log Report for Sanitary System, Section 11, TllN~ R3W, S.M. Keno Hills Subdivision Dear Mr. Moen: We are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments regarding soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of October 31, 1973, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated September 13, 1971 by Mr. Rolf Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environmental Quality. A total of seven test holes were put down within Section 11 for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the pro- posed sanitary system. Excavation was accomplished with an auger type drilling rig .and the test holes were extended to a maximum depth of 18.5 feet below ground surface. The final logs prepared for the test holes have been included in Drawings B-01, 2, 3, and 4. Ground water was not encountered in any of the test holes. W~ appreciate being given this opportunity to be of service to you. Should you have any questions with regard to the above, please do non- hesitate to contact us.
