SRA Box 1452 R Anchorage, Alaska 99502 August 22, 1975 Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environmental Quality 3330 C Street Anchorage, Alaska 99503 Subject: Water and Sewage Disposal for Development of the E½, SE%, SW¼, SW%, Sect. 21, T12N, R3W, SM. Gentlemen: As I have discussed with you on the telephone, the %~iab~ue property has been purchased by St. Paul Miki Catholic Church. It is their intention to construct a Rectory, with temporary church facilities in the basement, which is daylighted to the back. Construction of a seperate church will be some time into the future. The rectory and temporary church facility will consist of a prefabricated modular unit set onto a full basement. The modular has already been ordered, so to expedite the obtaining of a building permit, and because of the time required to obtain a zoning exception for a church in an R-6 zone, the current application is only for construction of a residence. The zoning exception will be filed in the ~ear future. The sewage disposal system has been designed to accommodate a church with seating of 100 to 125 persons. This will allow the system to be used if and when a zoning exception is granted. The sewage disposal system has been located so the existing well can be used for a single family residence, with the recognition that before the exception for church use is granted, provisions will be made to develop a water source compatible for public use. Attached are copies of the soils information at the site, a plot plan and computations for sizing the water and sewer system. All installations will be made in accordance with the requirements of the G.A.A.B. Department of Environmental Quality. If you need additional information, or have any questions, please let me know. A total of 2 test holes were put down within the Section 21 area for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the proposed sanitary system. Excavation was accomplished with an auger type drilling rig and the test'holes were extended to a total depth of 20.0 feet below ground surface. The final log prepared for the test hole has been included in the Drawing A-01 & A-02. Ground water was not enoountered in the test holeo We appreciate being given this opportunity to be of service to you° Should you have any questions with regard to the above, please do not hesitate to contact us.
