Dear Mr. Palmer:
Two successful percolation tests were performed on the subject property
on April 1, 1985 and April 3, 1985, in accordance with the procedures
specified by the Municipality of Anchorage Department of Health eno
Environmental Rrotection (DHER). However, due to the slow percolation
rates, a DHER bed design should be installed at the proposed sanitary
sewer system sites to provide adequate sewer service. Variations of the
dimensions of the proposed systems are listed below:
Site of Test Rit 2, west half of Lot 3 will require a minimum of
1202 sq. ft., or a bed system~area about 25' x 49' or 30' x
depending on final bed design..
Site of Test Pit 3, east half of Lot 3 will require a minimum of
1382 sq. ft., or a bed system area about 26.5' x 53' or 30.5' x 46',
depending on final bed design. The percolation test results must be
approved by DHEP in order to acquire a permit for final septic
system design.
Fluctuation of ground wager and surface run-off due to seasonal'
variations or changes in soil type at the septic system sites will-
require additional percolation testing.
