The test hole excavation was completed near the northeast corner of the property, the soils consisted of loose silty/sandy gravel for the top 4 or 5 feet, then tight silty gravel below to the bottom of the hole at 14 feet. Water was observed at 9 feet and after the 7 day monitoring period the water level was at 8.5 feet. The perc rate was 3 minutes per inch, this seemed very fast when compared to the old perc from Lee Reed of 21 minutes per inch, therefore an application rate of 0.8 will be use for the design. A new 5 wide trench will be utilized due to the high water table at 8.5 feet. The application rate of 0.8 gallons per day per square foot has been used for the 5 wide trench for a total length of 56 feet. Another test hole was excavated near the old system and found to have high water therefore the old system will abandoned in- place. All the of leach field area has a gentle slope of about 4 to 5 percent from the east to the west. The neighboring lots will NOT be impacted by this new system. As can be seen from the plan the lots are large and have lots of room to use, minus the area shadowed out by the existing wells.
