Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6650 Subject: New sewer/well permit - Stewart S/D, Lot 2 Gentlemen: The owner has requested we proceed forward to obtain a well and septic permit on the subject lot. Testholes were dug by another engineer during the platting process on December 7, 1997. A total of three testholes were excavated for the plat with two testholes on the subject property. The results of these tests are attached. The general slope of this lot is from east to west at a grade of approximately 2-4%. We have designed our system utilizing both testholes, which had similar percolation rates for the four-bedroom house, which is proposed for this lot. The lot will be served by individual well. We propose to install a 2' wide deep trench. The soil appears to percolated between 10 -11 min./inch and the material appears to be uniform per the logs. Water was not encountered during the excavation or monitoring. There are no public or private wells within 200' of our proposed system location except as noted. There is no surface water within 100' of the proposed system and there are no known curtain drains within 50'. The elope~ do not exceed 4% and in most cases are shallower. No elope of greater than 25% is encountered In the area. In addition, no surface water is evident on the parcel. In summan/, e011s encountered on the parcel are uniform throughout based on the three testholes placed. 'l'hese soils are a loose to slightly dense silty gravel with a percolation rate ranging from 3 to 11 mln~tes per inch. No groundwater was encountered either during testhole placement or the monitoring period.
