Dear John:
Enclosed for your use are the results of monitoring the water
table levels in testholes on the five lots you suggested in
the above subdivision. We did not test Lot 11 at this time
because of problems with access for the equipment. Since
Lot 11 is not in the first phase plat filing, we would hope
that this test could be deferred until the next phase is
prepared. Should you have any further questions, please do
not hesitate to contact me.

Dear John:
As you suggested at our meeting this morning in your office,
we understand that testholes to a depth of 15 feet should
be placed and monitored in the area of Test Pit locations
%5, %6 and %7 and, additionally, one each in Lots 5 and 17.
The holes should be monitored throughout a 30 day period. We
will advise you after 30 days of the findings. Thank you
for your help and time on this.

Alaska Envtronrrental Control Services, Znc. recently completed a survey
of the soils conditions on Tract BI, Bear Park Subdivision. The soil
logs and maps are enclosed.
LOCATZON:
Thls tract Is a part of Bear Park Subdivision, whlch is located wlthln
the NE 1/4 Section 4, T15N, RIE 5H. Zt is bordered by Armas Drive on
the south, Ursa HaJor Circle on the north, and Oak Knoll Drive to the ,
east. Zt ls 7.4~ acres In slze.
TOPOGRAPHY AND VEGETATZON:
Host Of the land has fairly gentle $1opes of less than 5 percent. A
steep drop with slopes well in excess of 25 percent dlvldes the tract in
half, running roughly northwest to southeast, but on either side of this
bank the land is quite flat. All test holes were done on the flat
areas, and there Is 'more than adequate room for both homes and septic
systems to be built away from this bank.
Vegetation consists almost entirely of birch, with occasional spruce and ~L~
various under-story plants.
50IL5 CONDITIONS:
Five test holes were performad, at locations designed to be ~
representative of the tract as a whole. Excellent soils were found in ~
each of the test holes, all clean sands and gravels that were rated ,:~,~\
visually between 85 and 150 square feet per bedroom. The holes could
only be dug to depths of ~ to I1 feet because the clean material kept
sloughing, so that the test holes got wider instead of deeper. No
ground water was encountered. All road cutbanks between and adjacent to~
test holes are composed of clean gravel and sand also.

Conventlonal septic systems, either beds, trenches, or wide dralnftelds,
could be built at the locations of any of these flve test holes, It
appears that there are excellent clean soils throughout this
subdivision,
