(RPKA)performed percolation testing, water level monitoring, and soil test pit logging in the Don Jack Subdivision Tract A-1 and determined that there is sufficient septic system area available to meet the requirements of MOA Code 15.65.180 and that required separation distances from existing and proposed wells are met. A signed and stamped percolation test log and a Site Plan to scale with contours that show the percolation test location for the proposed subdivision are included with this letter. The Site Plan,Figure 1, shows and demonstrates the following. 1. There are no developments on the proposed Tract A-1. 2. Locations of existing wells, and septic systems within 100 feet of Tract A-1. The drawing shows that wells and septic systems on neighboring lots are located at greater distances than 100 feet from proposed septic system. 3. There are no conflicts with existing surrounding water supply well and septic systems. 4. Sufficient existing reserved areas per MOA Code 15.65.180 meet separation requirements from existing and proposed property lines, proposed wells, and existing wells. 5. Topography is sufficient to comply with MOA Code 15.65.060. 6. There are no surface waters within 100 feet of any of the proposed septic system areas. The depths from surface to groundwater after the seven-day stabilization and monitoring period is indicated on the percolation test log and summarized below along with the percolation test result. TH-1: 14 feet soils investigation depth and 7-day groundwater stabilization and monitoring, and seasonal high water level documented on October 31,2017.Percolation Rate=7.3 minutes per inch(mpi)from 4.0 to 5.0 feet below the ground surface. No water was encountered while digging, and but water was encountered in the standpipe to the bottom of the hole after seven days. This is suspected to be the result of water from the 2 inch diameter vein of underground flow found during excavation at roughly 5 feet below the surface accumulating in the disturbed test pit soils. Wastewater disposal system should be located as to avoid all underground water veins which may be encountered during construction. Otherwise, the gravelly and sandy soils encountered during test pit excavation should not require any abnormal considerations with regard to foundation constructability since neither shallow groundwater nor ground ice conditions are anticipated to be encountered. 16515 Ceeterllelll Drive ■ Suite 101 a Eagle River,Alaska ■ 99577 907.694.2332 ■ Fax 907.694.1807 ■ www.rpka.aet Don Jack Subdivision Tract A-1 Soil Report and Septic System Area Investigation Page 2 of 2 MOA Code 15.65.180 states a reserved area of 12,000 square feet is required with a percolation rate in the range from 5 to 12 mpi. The septic reserve area indicated on Figure 1 is 12,000 square feet (average 160' x 75'). If you have any questions, please contact me at 694-2332. Sincerely, RODNEY P.
