This was due to the extensive landscaping on the lot- rock walls, decorative trees, and a raspberry patch. Both the contractor and my inspector were trying to minimize the impact on the client's property. However,during as-built measurements,we discovered that the closest cleanout is approximately 98.6' from the well,which is on the other side of the house. We are waiting for the survey as-built to confirm this. The soils on this property are extremely sandy,with 83%of the material classified as sand per the gradation submitted during permitting. The effluent will migrate nearly straight down instead of spreading out toward the well. The sand will also act as a filter for the effluent. Septic System Design and Permit Application Dear On-Site Services Engineer: The owner of the above lot intends to sell the property in the future and would like to upgrade to a new 3-bedroom septic system. We are submitting this design and permit application for the construction of a new septic system. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home and the existing well, proposed septic location and alternate site and the existing septic location. No conflicts exist between the proposed system and any other wells or septic systems either on this or adjacent lots. All lots to the East are served with public water and sewer. The ground surface of the proposed septic location on the lot is relatively flat. There are no slopes greater than 25% within 50 feet downslope of either the primary or alternate site. Storm water drainage will not impact this septic system. The new trench will be constructed parallel to the slope as much as possible. Wells on this and adjacent lots are shown. The new system will be a minimum of 100' from all wells and surface water, and more than 5' away from the septic tank. The alternate site is located more than 12' away. Please refer to the attached test hole log, soils lab analysis, plan and profile sheets for the septic design. If this design is followed,there will be no adverse impacts to adjacent properties.
