DOWL Engineers (DOWL) is assisting the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) with the subdivision,
rezoning, and platting of 80.0 acres of land in the Heritage Land Bank Parcel 1-007. As a condition of
approval for the platting action (S-10202), the Department of Community Planning and Development
recommends that we provide "supporting documentation on water availability" (Comment No. 5.c).
Please find the attached table, map, and well data collected in July of 1998 at On -Site Services. The
map shows the approximate location of wells on lots adjacent to the subject site. The table summarizes
the estimated flow of well water in gallons per hour (gph) from well logs. Of the 10 sites where well
logs were available, the average flow is 634 gph.
These adjacent wells demonstrate the availability of an adequate supply of water to the proposed Tract
B, which will be developed with a single (one) residential unit. Tracts A and C will remain in
Municipal ownership and are not being developed.
Please see the attached platting comments, maps, and table, and copies of well logs. If the attached
data meets your approval, please initial Comment No. 5.c and return it to me via facsimile at 563-3953.
